How to start Meesho ads: a step-by-step setup guide.

Starting Meesho ads takes about five minutes in the Supplier Panel. Here is every step, from Create New Campaign to Submit, how the cost-per-click model charges you, and how to pick a first budget from just ₹100 a day.

Free during early access · Forever free under 25 orders/day
Create New CampaignSupplier Panel → Advertisement → go liveYour promoted catalogAd₹100per dayCPC: you pay onlywhen someone clicks.

To start Meesho ads, open the Supplier Panel, go to the Advertisement section, and click Create New Campaign. Name the campaign, select your catalogs, set a daily or total budget (you can begin at ₹100/day), choose a duration or ‘No end date’, review the summary, and click Submit. Meesho ads are cost-per-click, so you pay only when a shopper taps your ad.

TL;DR
  • Path: Supplier Panel -> Advertisement -> Create New Campaign -> name, catalogs, budget, duration -> review -> Submit.
  • Meesho ads are CPC (cost-per-click) -- impressions are free, you pay only on a click, share or wishlist.
  • You can start from Rs 100/day. Product Ads, Brand Ads and Smart Campaigns are the three types.
  • Run any new campaign at least 7 days before you judge it -- early daily numbers swing wildly.
  • Ads buy visibility; they cannot fix a weak price or listing. Advertise catalogs that already convert.
The setup flow

From login to live in six steps

Every Meesho campaign follows the same short path. Each node below is a screen in the Supplier Panel, nothing here needs a specialist.

Figure 1, The Meesho ad creation flow. The whole thing is one screen’s worth of decisions, in order.

Let us walk each step slowly, because the fields you fill in now decide how much you spend and what you get back.

Step 1, Open the Advertisement section

Log in to the Meesho Supplier Panel and find the Advertisement or Ads entry in the left menu. This is the dashboard for every campaign you run, and it is where you will come back to read results. If you have never advertised before, it will simply invite you to create your first campaign.

Step 2, Create a new campaign and name it

Click Create New Campaign. The first thing Meesho asks for is a campaign name. This is only for you, so name it something you will recognise later, for example, “Kurti best-seller, August” or “Festive push”. A clear name saves confusion once you are running three or four campaigns at once.

Step 3, Select the catalogs to promote

Next you choose which catalogs the campaign will push. Meesho will often surface a Recommended Catalogs list, catalogs its data says are most likely to convert. For a first campaign, promote a catalog that already sells organically and has decent ratings, rather than a brand-new listing with no track record. You can read our note on how many catalogs you need to get orders if your catalog is still thin.

Step 4, Set your budget

Now the money. You set either a daily budget (the most you want to spend in a single day) or a total budget for the whole campaign. You can start as low as ₹100 per day. Remember the CPC model: this figure is a ceiling, not a guaranteed spend. If your ad gets shown a thousand times but only earns ten clicks, you pay for ten clicks, not the full ₹100. Our Meesho ads cost guide breaks the numbers down further.

Step 5, Set the duration (or no end date)

Choose how long the campaign runs. You can set a fixed start and end date, useful for a festival window, or select No end date so it keeps running on your daily budget until you pause it. Always-on is fine for a proven catalog, but put a reminder in your calendar to review it, so budget does not keep flowing to a catalog that has gone cold.

Step 6, Review the summary and submit

Meesho shows a summary page with your name, catalogs, budget and duration in one place. Read it once, the budget line is the one to double-check, then click Submit. The campaign goes live, usually within minutes, and your promoted catalogs start appearing in high-visibility slots.

Pick a type

The three Meesho campaign types

On the create screen you choose a campaign type. Here is what each one does and who it suits.

Campaign typeWhat it promotesBest for
Product AdsIndividual catalogs in search and related listingsMost new sellers; promoting a specific best-seller
Brand AdsYour store and brand presence across the appSellers with an established catalogue building recognition
Smart CampaignsMeesho auto-selects catalogs and bids for youBeginners who want Meesho to handle the optimisation

If you are unsure, a Smart Campaign is the gentlest on-ramp: Meesho reads your catalogue and does the catalog-picking and bidding for you. Once you understand how your catalogs respond, Product Ads give you tighter control. Read our full Meesho ads guide for the deeper strategy.

Budget and placement

What a first budget buys, and where it shows

Two views: a sensible starting budget by goal, and the placements your rupees buy across the Meesho app.

Before you hit Submit

A five-point pre-launch check

Advertise catalogs that shoppers already buy without ads. A campaign amplifies a listing that works; it will not rescue one that shoppers ignore. If your organic orders on a catalog are near zero, fix the listing and price first.

Open the app, search your product, and compare your price and rating to the catalogs ranking above you. If you are pricier with a weaker rating, clicks will cost you money without producing orders. Read our note on Meesho price recommendation before you spend.

The first image does most of the selling. Blurry, cluttered or misleading images produce clicks that never convert, which is the most expensive kind of click. Tighten the images before you promote.

Treat the first week as tuition. Set a daily budget you are comfortable spending purely to learn how your catalog responds, typically Rs 100 to Rs 250. You raise it later, on evidence.

Put a reminder seven days out. Judging a campaign day-by-day leads to panicky pausing. Give it a clean week, then read the cost-per-order and decide.

Beginner habits

Start with these habits

Promote winners, not hopefuls

Point your first budget at catalogs that already earn organic orders. Ads multiply what works.

Track orders, not clicks

A click is a cost; an order is the return. Read cost-per-order, not click count, when you judge a campaign.

Give it seven days

Meesho's system learns who to show your ad to. Early daily swings mean nothing; the weekly average is the truth.

Watch your problem pincodes

Ads bring more orders, and more orders mean more returns and RTO. Keep an eye on where they cluster.

Raise budget on evidence

Once a catalog shows a healthy cost-per-order, scale that one. Do not spread a thin budget across everything.

Keep the listing honest

The cheapest way to waste ad spend is a listing that oversells. Clicks that feel misled do not become orders.

What to do once the campaign is live

Submitting is the easy part; reading the result is where sellers go wrong. For the first week, resist the urge to touch anything. Meesho’s ranking is learning which shoppers respond to your catalog, and that learning is thrown off if you pause, edit and restart every day. After seven days, open the Advertisement dashboard and look past the click count to the number that matters: how many orders the campaign produced and what each one cost you. Divide your spend by orders and you have a rough cost-per-order. Set that against your margin, and you know whether the campaign made money.

If clicks are healthy but orders are thin, the ad is doing its job and the listing is not. That is nearly always a price, image, rating or delivery-expectation problem, the same things covered in our guide to increasing Meesho orders. If both clicks and orders are healthy, you have found a catalog worth scaling: raise its budget in small steps and keep watching the cost-per-order as you go. Growth on Meesho is rarely one big lever; it is a proven catalog fed a little more budget each week.

How ads fit the rest of your operations

Ads sit on top of the daily machine of selling: accepting orders, printing labels, handing over to the courier, and reconciling what Meesho actually pays you. More ad-driven orders means more of everything downstream, including more returns and more RTO. That is fine, and expected, as long as you keep the operations tight and keep checking that every rupee Meesho settles to you is correct. See how the whole loop fits together in our Meesho order management system and the broader order management system overview.

You run the ads. Robnu guards the payout.

To be clear: Robnu does not run or optimise your Meesho ads, that is your campaign to grow. What Robnu does is make sure every rupee Meesho actually pays you is correct. It reads your settlement, matches each payout against the order, and flags wrong RTO and return deductions, short payments and claim-worthy losses, so the sales your ads win are not quietly eroded on the settlement side.

FAQ

Starting Meesho ads, answered

Log in to the Meesho Supplier Panel, open the Advertisement (Ads) section, and click Create New Campaign. Give the campaign a name, select the catalogs you want to promote, set a daily or total budget (you can start at Rs 100/day), choose a duration or pick 'No end date', review the summary page, and click Submit. Your campaign goes live and starts placing your catalogs higher in search and the feed.

You can start a Meesho campaign with a daily budget as low as Rs 100 per day. Because Meesho ads run on a cost-per-click (CPC) model, that Rs 100 is a ceiling on spend, not a guaranteed charge: you only pay when a shopper actually clicks (or in some cases shares or wishlists) your ad. If nobody clicks, you are not charged the full amount.

No. Meesho ads are cost-per-click. Your catalog can appear at the top of search or in the feed thousands of times at no cost; you are only charged when a shopper taps the ad. That is why impressions are effectively free marketing and clicks are the thing you are paying for. Judge the campaign on the orders those clicks produce, not on the impressions alone.

Meesho offers Product Ads (promote individual catalogs in search and listings), Brand Ads (promote your store or brand presence), and Smart Campaigns where Meesho automatically optimises catalog selection and bidding for you. New sellers usually start with Product Ads on their best catalogs, or a Smart Campaign if they want Meesho to handle the optimisation.

Run any new campaign for at least 7 days before you judge it. Meesho's system needs time to learn which shoppers respond to your catalog, and daily numbers swing a lot early on. A campaign that looks weak on day two often settles into a healthy cost-per-order by the end of the first week. Do not pause and restart every day; give it a clean run.

Yes. When you set the campaign duration you can choose a fixed start and end date, or select 'No end date' so the campaign keeps running on your daily budget until you pause it. 'No end date' is convenient for always-on promotion of a proven catalog, but check it regularly so spend does not drift on a catalog that has stopped converting.

Promoted catalogs surface in high-visibility spots: the top of relevant search results, category and related-product listings, and parts of the home and 'For You' feed. The exact placement depends on the shopper's query and Meesho's ranking, but the point of the ad is to buy visibility your organic ranking has not earned yet.

Ads reliably buy you visibility, but they cannot fix a weak listing or an uncompetitive price. If shoppers click and do not buy, the problem is usually the price, the images, the ratings, or the delivery expectation, not the ad itself. Ads work best on catalogs that already convert organically; they amplify what is working rather than rescuing what is not.
