Meesho Sponsored Products are paid placements that push an individual catalog to the top of search results, the home feed and related listings, billed per click. They carry an Ad label and you pay only when a shopper taps the catalog. Set one up in the Supplier Panel Advertisement section, and use them on catalogs that already convert.

TL;DR
  • Sponsored Products promote one catalog in search, the home feed and related listings.
  • Cost-per-click: you pay only on a click, never for an impression.
  • Set up in Supplier Panel -> Advertisement -> Create Campaign, from around Rs 100/day.
  • Best for proven catalogs; ads amplify what already converts, they do not rescue weak listings.
  • Optimise the catalog (image, price, title) to lift click-through and win cheaper clicks.
Where they show

Three surfaces a sponsored catalog lands on

Sponsored Products are not one slot. Your catalog can surface across search, the feed and related listings, each carrying an Ad marker.

Figure 1, A single Sponsored Products campaign can surface your catalog across all three surfaces, wherever a shopper is likely to want it.

Sponsored Products are the most direct advertising tool Meesho gives a seller: take one catalog, and pay to put it where shoppers will see it first.

How a sponsored placement works

When a shopper searches or scrolls, Meesho runs an auction for the ad slots on that screen. Your catalog competes against other sellers bidding for the same shoppers, and the winner earns the placement, marked with an Ad label. Crucially, winning the slot costs nothing on its own. You are billed only when the shopper actually clicks the catalog, which is why Sponsored Products, like every Meesho ad format, run on cost-per-click. If you are new to that mechanic, our Meesho ads CPC explained guide breaks the auction and pricing down step by step.

The point of the placement is to buy visibility your organic ranking has not yet earned. A brand-new catalog, or one sitting on page three of search, may be perfectly good and still invisible. Sponsored Products let you jump the queue and put it in front of shoppers now, rather than waiting weeks for organic ranking to build. That is powerful, but it comes with a discipline: the visibility only pays off if the catalog converts once it is seen. Which is why the choice of catalog matters more than the size of the bid.

Why proven catalogs win

The single biggest lever in Sponsored Products is not your budget, it is which catalog you promote. Advertise a catalog that already earns organic orders and has decent ratings, and the extra visibility turns into more of the same, orders. Advertise an untested catalog with a weak main image or an off-market price, and you mostly buy clicks that bounce, the most expensive kind of click there is. So the rule is simple: promote winners, not hopefuls. If your catalog is still thin, fix the listing and price first, using our guides on increasing Meesho orders and choosing an ad format, before you spend.

Set one up

Sponsored Products setup, step by step

The whole thing takes a few minutes in the Supplier Panel. Expand each step below.

Log in to the Supplier Panel, open the Advertisement section, and click Create New Campaign. Give it a clear name you will recognise later, such as the catalog and month.

Pick a catalog that already earns organic orders and has decent ratings. Meesho often surfaces Recommended Catalogs; a proven best-seller is the safest first choice.

Set a daily or total budget, starting around Rs 100 a day is fine. Accept the recommended cost-per-click for your first campaign; it keeps you competitive without guessing.

Choose a fixed duration or No end date, read the summary page (double-check the budget line), and submit. The catalog starts appearing in sponsored slots, usually within minutes.

Leave it alone for seven days, then open the dashboard and read the cost-per-order, not the click count. Raise the budget on what converts profitably; fix or pause what does not.

Sponsored Products in the wider ad picture

Sponsored Products are the catalog-level format, the same underlying idea as Product Ads. If you would rather Meesho pick the catalogs and set the bids, a Smart Campaign is the hands-off way to run the same catalog promotion. And if your goal is store recognition rather than direct sales of one item, Sponsored Brands promote your store instead. Most sellers start with Sponsored Products because they are the most direct route to orders and the best way to learn how your catalogs respond.

Whichever way you run them, do not judge a campaign on clicks. Clicks are a cost; orders are the return. After a clean week, divide your spend by the orders the campaign produced to get a rough cost-per-order, set that against your margin, and you know whether the campaign made money. If clicks are healthy but orders are thin, the ad is working and the listing is not, and the fix is the price, image or rating, not a bigger bid.

How ads fit the rest of your operations

A Sponsored Products campaign is the front door. Behind every order a click produces sits the daily machine of selling: accepting the order, printing the label, handing over to the courier, and reconciling what Meesho actually pays you. More ad-driven orders means more of all of it, including more returns and more RTO. That is expected, as long as the operations stay tight and you keep checking that every rupee Meesho settles to you is correct. See how the whole loop fits together in our Meesho order management system and the broader order management system overview.

Where Robnu fits

You run the Sponsored Products. Robnu guards the payout.

To be clear: Robnu does not run or optimise your Sponsored Products, that is your campaign to grow. What Robnu does is make sure every rupee Meesho actually pays you is correct. It reads your settlement, matches each payout against the order, and flags wrong RTO and return deductions, short payments and claim-worthy losses, so the sales your ads win are not quietly eroded on the settlement side.

FAQ

Meesho Sponsored Products, answered

Sponsored Products are Meesho's paid placements that push an individual catalog into high-visibility spots: the top of search results, the home and For You feed, and related-product listings. They carry an Ad label and run on cost-per-click, so you pay only when a shopper taps the catalog. They are the catalog-level format, the same idea as Product Ads, and are best used on catalogs that already convert.

They appear in three main places. First, at or near the top of relevant search results when a shopper searches a keyword your catalog matches. Second, in the home feed and For You surfaces where Meesho recommends items. Third, in related-product and category listings shown alongside similar catalogs. In each spot the placement carries an Ad marker, and you buy visibility your organic ranking has not yet earned.

Log in to the Supplier Panel, open the Advertisement section, and create a new campaign for the catalog you want to promote. Select the catalog, set a daily or total budget (you can start around Rs 100 per day), accept the recommended cost-per-click or set your own, choose a duration or No end date, review the summary and submit. The catalog then starts surfacing in sponsored slots, usually within minutes.

There is no fixed fee; you set a budget and pay per click within it. The cost of each click is decided by Meesho's auction, balancing your bid against your catalog's relevance and appeal. Your total spend is the cost-per-click multiplied by the number of clicks, capped by your daily budget. A stronger catalog with a higher click-through rate tends to win clicks more cheaply.

Choose catalogs that already convert organically and have decent ratings. Sponsored Products amplify what works; they cannot rescue a listing shoppers ignore. Promoting a proven best-seller means the extra visibility turns into orders, while promoting an untested catalog with weak images or an off price mostly buys clicks that never convert. Start with your strongest catalog, learn the numbers, then expand.

Optimise the catalog, not just the bid. A clean main image, a competitive price and an honest, keyword-accurate title lift your click-through rate, and a higher click-through rate earns cheaper clicks. Then read the cost-per-order after seven days, raise the budget on catalogs that convert profitably, and pause or fix the ones that do not. Judge by orders and profit after returns, not by clicks alone.

They are closely related. Sponsored Products is the catalog-level ad format; a Smart Campaign is a way of running catalog ads where Meesho auto-selects catalogs and sets bids for you. Run manually, Sponsored Products give you full control of which catalog and what to bid. A Smart Campaign is the hands-off version of the same catalog promotion. Both bill per click.

Give any new campaign at least seven days. Meesho's ranking needs time to learn which shoppers respond to your catalog, and daily numbers swing a lot at first. A catalog that looks weak on day two often settles into a healthy cost-per-order by the end of the first week. Avoid pausing and restarting daily; let it run a clean week, then read the result.
