Amazon Easy Ship pickup not happening

The courier does not arrive, the order cancels, and you pay for it. Since 17 August 2026 that is 10% of order value plus GST on most orders. Here are the two reimbursement routes Amazon has published nowhere a search engine can reach.

Free during early access · Forever free under 25 orders/day
Updated 7 October 2026

You are charged first and have to claim it back, and there are two routes with two different deadlines: the Easy Ship Pickup Miss form within 24 hours, then a Seller Support case asking for the fee reimbursement and the metric reversal; or the self-service cancellation-fee reimbursement tool, within 30 days of the buy date. Ask for the Late Dispatch Rate reversal explicitly, because the fee is the small loss and the metric is the one that threatens the account.

TL;DR
  • Since 17 August 2026 the cancellation fee is a percentage of order value, not of the referral fee: 10% under INR 10,000, plus 18% GST.
  • A courier no-show on a INR 9,000 order therefore costs roughly INR 1,062.
  • Two reimbursement routes exist and neither is on a crawlable Amazon page: the 24-hour Pickup Miss form, and a 30-day self-service tool.
  • Ask for the performance metric reversal as well as the money, because Late Dispatch Rate must stay under 4%.
  • Delivery coverage is not pickup coverage, and Amazon has said on its own forum that it cannot update pincode coverage.

This is the most-complained-about thing in Amazon India's seller forums, and it is structurally unfair: the seller packed on time, Amazon's own courier did not arrive, and the fee lands on the seller. It is also recoverable, if you move inside the windows.

What changed on 17 August 2026, and why the fee suddenly hurts

Amazon announced a new cancellation fee structure for Easy Ship and Self Ship sellers in India, effective 17 August 2026. The fee became a percentage of order value, with 18% GST applied on top. Before that it was based on referral fees.

That detail is the whole story. Referral fees for many categories had been cut to 0% for items under INR 1,000 in March 2026, so a cancellation fee calculated from the referral fee was close to nothing for a large share of orders. Five months later the same cancellation became a real charge. Nothing about your operation changed; the formula did.

Order valueFeeWhat that means
Under INR 10,00010% of order valueA INR 9,000 order costs about INR 1,062 with GST
INR 10,001 to 50,0008% of order valueA INR 20,000 order costs about INR 1,888 with GST
INR 50,001 to 1,00,0005% of order valueA INR 60,000 order costs about INR 3,540 with GST
Above INR 1,00,0002% of order valueA INR 1,50,000 order costs about INR 3,540 with GST
The fee applies whoever failed to turn up
Amazon's announcement does not carve out a pickup the courier missed. The top-voted reply on its own announcement thread, with 230 upvotes, is a seller asking exactly that: why should the seller pay when the logistics person did not come to collect. The answer in practice is that you pay first and claim it back, which is what the rest of this page is about.

The two routes, and their deadlines

Both of these came from Amazon staff replying on its seller forums. Neither is on a help page a search engine can read, which is why most sellers never find them and why this page quotes the route rather than linking to a page that redirects to sign-in.

Route one: the Pickup Miss form, within 24 hours

Submit the Easy Ship Pickup Miss form within 24 hours of the missed pickup, then open a Seller Support case. Ask for two things in that case, not one: the fee reimbursement and the performance metric reversal. Sellers who ask only about the money get the money and keep the Late Dispatch Rate hit, which is the more expensive half.

Route two: the self-service reimbursement tool, within 30 days

Amazon also announced a self-service cancellation-fee reimbursement tool, with stated eligibility of a reason attributable to Amazon and a limit of 30 days from the buy date. That announcement has sat on the forum with effectively no engagement, which is a reasonable proxy for how many sellers know it exists.

What to put in the case

Treat it as an evidence submission rather than a complaint. The order ID and the scheduled pickup date, the fact that the order was packed and ready before the ship-by date, the absence of a pickup scan, and the fee line itself from your settlement report. That last one is the piece sellers skip, and it is the one that makes the amount undeniable. Our guide to the 24 settlement report fields shows where the fee appears and how to pull it.

Where these facts come from
The fee bands and the 18% GST are quoted from Amazon's own seller-forum announcement of the 17 August 2026 change. The two reimbursement routes and their deadlines are from Amazon staff replies on the same forums. All of it was read on 6 October 2026. Where Amazon has published no figure, this page says so rather than filling the gap.

Stopping it recurring, where you actually can

Check whether your pincode is the problem

Delivery coverage and pickup coverage are different lists. Sellers have reported pincodes where Amazon delivers to buyers but Easy Ship pickup is unavailable, and an Amazon representative answered on the forum that they do not have the ability to update pincode coverage. Amazon's published coverage reference has also disagreed with what its own system accepts, and that reference sits behind the Seller Central login, so a prospective seller cannot check it before registering.

If your misses cluster on one pincode rather than scattering across dates, this is the cause and no amount of case-raising will fix it. The fix is a different fulfilment channel for that location.

Never hand over a parcel that was not scanned

This is the single most-repeated piece of advice from Indian sellers on Amazon's own forums, and it applies to pickups as much as returns: if the parcel is not marked picked up, you have no evidence it left you. A pickup that happened but was never scanned produces the same Late Dispatch Rate defect as a pickup that never happened, and it is much harder to argue.

Watch the metric, not just the fee

Late Dispatch Rate must stay under 4% and Valid Tracking Rate above 95%. A defect also arrives when the carrier collects the package but the first scan is not registered until after the ship-by date, which is a failure mode you cannot see from your own records. Account health is the thing that eventually costs you the business rather than the order, which is covered in what to do when an Amazon India account is deactivated.

Reconcile the fees, because they are easy to miss

A cancellation fee is a settlement line like any other. If you are not matching settlement lines back to orders, a fee charged for a courier that never arrived looks identical to a fee you genuinely owed. That is the same discipline as catching a wrong deduction anywhere else, covered in Amazon payment reconciliation for India and payout reconciliation.

File on the day, not at month end

The shorter window is 24 hours. A weekly routine cannot catch that, so the Pickup Miss form has to be part of the same day's work as the missed pickup itself. Everything else about this problem is recoverable; the deadline is not.

Ask for both things, every time

Fee reimbursement and metric reversal are separate asks in the same case. Sellers who request only the refund keep the Late Dispatch Rate defect, and defects are what a 180-day rolling account health calculation remembers.

Easy Ship, Self Ship or FBA after this

The honest comparison is about your buyer mix rather than your order volume, which is how most published advice gets it wrong. Easy Ship weight handling is a flat fee. FBA is zonal. So FBA tends to be cheaper on regional orders and dearer on national ones, before you add the pick and pack, storage and removal fees that Easy Ship does not charge at all.

Self Ship removes the dependency on Amazon's courier, which is the actual cause here, and moves the Valid Tracking Rate risk onto you and your carrier. Amazon counts a defect when you ship with a carrier it does not integrate with, so the carrier choice is part of the decision rather than a detail after it.

Whichever you pick, the money side is unchanged: the fees land in the settlement report and someone has to check them. That is the part Robnu does on Amazon today.

Robnu reads your Amazon money, and says so plainly

Amazon is read-only in Robnu: orders, returns, payouts and inventory sync so you can see them and reconcile them, and Robnu cannot accept Amazon orders or make their labels. Order processing is live for AJIO and Meesho. On Amazon, what it gives you is every payout matched to the orders behind it, so a cancellation fee you should never have paid is visible instead of invisible.

Questions sellers ask

You are charged first and have to claim it back. Amazon's own staff have given two routes on its seller forums, neither of which appears on a crawlable help page: submit the Easy Ship Pickup Miss form within 24 hours and then raise a Seller Support case asking for both the fee reimbursement and the performance metric reversal, or use the self-service cancellation-fee reimbursement tool, whose stated eligibility is a reason attributable to Amazon and which has a limit of 30 days from the buy date. Both have deadlines, which is the part that costs sellers money, because the fee lands quietly and the clock starts anyway.

Since 17 August 2026 the Easy Ship and Self Ship cancellation fee is a percentage of order value: 10% under INR 10,000, 8% from INR 10,001 to 50,000, 5% from INR 50,001 to 1,00,000 and 2% above that, with 18% GST applied on top of the fee. So a courier no-show on a INR 9,000 order costs roughly INR 1,062. The structure before this change was based on referral fees, which for many categories had gone to 0% in March 2026, so a fee that was close to nothing became a real number five months later.

Yes, unless it is reversed. Sellers report Late Dispatch Rate warnings for orders that were packed and ready on time where the delivery associate did not arrive, and LDR must stay under 4%. That is why the Seller Support case should ask for the performance metric reversal explicitly and not only the money: the fee is recoverable in rupees, and the metric is the thing that eventually threatens the account.

Because delivery coverage and pickup coverage are different lists. Sellers have reported pincodes where Amazon delivers to buyers but Easy Ship pickup is unavailable, and an Amazon representative replied on the forum that they do not have the ability to update pincode coverage. Amazon's own published coverage list has also disagreed with what its system accepts. The coverage reference is behind the Seller Central login, so a prospective seller cannot check before registering.

It depends on your buyer mix rather than your volume, which is how most comparisons get it wrong. Easy Ship weight handling is a flat fee, while FBA is zonal, so FBA is cheaper on regional orders and dearer on national ones before you add its pick and pack, storage and removal fees, which Easy Ship does not charge at all. If missed pickups are concentrated in one pincode, Self Ship with an integrated carrier solves the pickup problem but moves the Valid Tracking Rate risk onto you.

No. Amazon is read-only in Robnu today: orders, returns, payouts and inventory sync so you can see and report on them, but Robnu cannot accept Amazon orders or generate their labels. What it can do on Amazon is the money side, which is where this problem shows up as a number: cancellation fees appear as settlement lines, and a fee you were charged for a courier that never arrived is exactly the kind of deduction that goes unnoticed. Order processing is live for AJIO and Meesho.
