A weight slab is the band your parcel falls into for shipping-charge purposes — for example up to 500g, up to 1kg, and so on. Meesho bills forward and reverse shipping by these slabs, so a parcel that tips into the next slab costs more to ship even if it is only a few grams over. Volumetric weight (also called dimensional weight) converts a parcel's size into a weight figure, because a large light box takes up van space a small heavy one does not. It is calculated from length x breadth x height divided by a standard divisor. Couriers and marketplaces charge on whichever is greater: your actual weight or your volumetric weight.
The common formula is length times breadth times height in centimetres, divided by a divisor (often 5000 for domestic courier). The result is a weight in kilograms.
