Open manifest
A manifest that is started but not yet closed, orders can still be added.
An open manifest is the working surface for the day. As confirmed shipments come through the 11-stage flow, they accumulate in the open manifest. You can still add, remove, or correct entries.
Most operating mistakes happen at this stage, slips printed for orders that didn't make it into the manifest, or shipments that did make it but lost a slip somewhere along the way. The document pipeline keeps slip + invoice + manifest line in lockstep so this stops happening.
Open manifests close automatically (immediate / delayed closure policy) or manually. Whichever you choose, the SLA watchdog watches the clock so a planned closure never becomes an accidental late one.
