Amazon A+ Content: who gets it, and what it changes

A+ Content swaps the plain text description for images, comparison tables and brand modules. It is open only to brand owners, it does a different job from your title and bullets, and it is reviewed before it goes live.

A+ Content is the image and table section that replaces the plain product description on an Amazon detail page. On Amazon India it is available to sellers enrolled in Brand Registry as the brand owner, built in Seller Central under Advertising, A+ Content Manager, and reviewed by Amazon before it appears.

TL;DR
  • A+ Content replaces the plain text description with modules: images, text blocks, comparison charts.
  • You need Brand Registry as the brand owner, or an authorised agent of the brand. A reseller cannot add it.
  • Build it in Seller Central under Advertising, then A+ Content Manager, and apply it to one or many ASINs.
  • Every submission is reviewed. Claims, prices, offers, contact details and competitor references are the usual rejections.
  • It persuades the buyer who has already arrived. It is not where you put keywords, so the title and backend terms still do that job.

Sellers often treat A+ Content as a ranking tool or as decoration. It is neither. It is the space on the page where a brand owner can show what plain text cannot: the product in use, the size against a hand, the difference between the three models in the range. Used for that, it earns its build time.

What A+ Content is, and what it replaces

On a detail page without A+ Content, the From the manufacturer or product description area shows plain text. With A+ Content, that area shows modules you have built: banner images, image and text pairs, a comparison chart, and similar blocks. Amazon earlier called this Enhanced Brand Content, and some sellers and agencies still use that name.

The title, bullets, images and price at the top of the page do not change. A+ Content sits lower down, where a buyer who is already interested scrolls to decide. That placement is the reason it matters most for products bought on detail, such as appliances, apparel with fit questions, and anything sold in a range.

There is a basic version and a premium version. Basic A+ is the one most brands build. Premium A+ allows larger modules and more of them, and Seller Central shows whether your brand meets its eligibility conditions.

Who can publish it

On Amazon India, A+ Content is open to sellers enrolled in Amazon Brand Registry who are the brand owner, or an agent the brand owner has authorised in Brand Registry. The brand on the ASIN has to match the registered brand.

A reseller selling someone else's brand cannot add A+ Content to that ASIN, even with the most sales on it. If you resell and the page has none, the person to ask is the brand owner.

If you own your brand and have not enrolled, enrolment comes first, and that needs a trademark registration or a pending application with the Indian trademark office. Brand Registry also gives you more control over the detail page generally, which matters if other sellers list against your ASINs.

Building it in Seller Central, step by step

Go to Advertising, then A+ Content Manager, and choose Start creating A+ content. Pick the basic version unless the premium option shows as available for your brand.

Give the content a name you will recognise later, such as the product line and the date, and choose the language. Then add modules one at a time. A sensible order for most products is a header image that shows the product in use, an image and text module for each of the two or three things buyers most ask about, and a comparison chart across your own range.

Upload images at the sizes each module states on screen, and keep any text on images large enough to read on a phone. Then choose Add ASIN and apply the content to the products it describes. One A+ document can cover a whole range if the products share it, which saves building the same thing many times.

Submit for approval. The status moves through Submitted and In review to Approved or Not approved. Content that is not approved shows a reason against it, and you edit and resubmit.

Why A+ Content gets rejected

Claims Amazon cannot verify: best, number one, top selling, guaranteed results, and medical or health claims that need substantiation.

Anything about price, offers, shipping or time: discounts, free delivery, limited stock, new arrival. These go stale and conflict with the offer at the top of the page.

Contact details, website addresses, and anything that sends the buyer off Amazon. References to competitors or comparisons against another brand's product.

Image problems: text too small to read, low resolution, images that do not match the product, Amazon logos or badges, and quotes from customer reviews. Spelling and grammar errors in the module text also come back.

Most rejections name the module. Fix that module and resubmit rather than rebuilding the whole document.

What it changes, and what it does not

A+ Content is built to help the buyer who is already on the page decide. It answers the questions a description cannot answer well in words, and a comparison chart keeps a buyer moving between your own products instead of going back to search.

It is not a keyword field. Sellers widely treat A+ text as not indexed for Amazon search, so the words a buyer searches for still belong in the title, bullets and backend search terms. Do not bury the main keyword in an A+ image and remove it from the bullets.

Amazon publishes no India figure for how much A+ Content lifts sales, and the figures quoted by agencies are rarely sourced. Measure it the way you would measure any change: note the date it went live and compare Unit Session Percentage in Business Reports over two full weeks either side.

What Robnu doesLive

The part of this Robnu does for you

Robnu reads your Amazon account and reconciles every settlement line back to the order that caused it, so a wrong deduction is visible the day it lands.

  • Orders, returns, payouts and inventory synced
  • Every settlement line matched to its order
  • FBA units Amazon has not made good, listed

Where this sits in the rest of your Amazon operation

On Amazon, Robnu syncs your orders, returns, payouts and inventory, reconciles every settlement line back to the order that caused it, lists the FBA units Amazon's own ledger has not made good, flags a return that never came back before the SAFE-T window closes, and scans returns in at your dock. It reads your Amazon account rather than writing to it, so accepting orders and making labels run on AJIO and Meesho today. Related reading:

Questions sellers ask

Yes. A+ Content is available to sellers enrolled in Brand Registry as the brand owner, or an agent the brand owner has authorised. A reseller cannot add it to another brand's ASIN.

Building and publishing basic A+ Content in Seller Central carries no fee. The cost is the time and photography it takes to build good modules.

Not directly. Sellers widely treat A+ text as not indexed for search, so keywords still belong in the title, bullets and backend search terms. A+ Content helps the buyer already on the page decide.

The usual causes are unverifiable claims such as best or number one, price or delivery wording, contact details or website addresses, references to competitors, and images with unreadable text. The rejection names the module to fix.

Yes. You can apply one A+ document to many ASINs, which suits a product range that shares the same story and comparison chart.

They are the same feature. Enhanced Brand Content was the earlier name for seller-side brand content, and some sellers and agencies still use it.
